If your school is considering mobile technology in the classroom then our advice to you is to do it.  Increasingly schools are asking us about mobile technology and we have noticed that there are so many things that school pupils are missing out on without it.

Today’s students are tech-savvy. They get more engaged and really thrive when they are using mobile devices in the classroom and technology is a part of their future so it is important that they are prepared by their educators from the start.

Working with mobile devices will not only be a part of their everyday lives when they are adults, but it will also be vital part of the majority of careers.

In some ways it is sad that the old days of looking for information in encyclopedias are long gone but the benefit of this is that children have lots of information at their fingertips through search engines such as Google or Bing.

Having properly secured mobile devices in the classroom allows pupils instant access to the latest news, information and statistics, keeping them in touch with what’s going on around them as well as in tune with the latest technology.

Textbooks are becoming less relevant as our generation ages. Technology provides instant, up to date information that printed text books just can’t compete with.  Digital text books can be used and the advantage of these is that they are easier to manage an organise than physical versions of the same thing.

Outside learning is a modern phenomenon. The rise of mobile devices in schools means that you can expand learning outside of the classroom.

Pupils need not only have access to information during lesson time but they can look up information from anywhere on campus.

The introduction of mobile technology in schools will improve collaboration, as well as enthuse students to do more work outside of lesson time.

Some schools are worried about the possible negative impacts of mobile technology in schools.  The risk to its pupils and risk of cyber bullying can be a worry but if you have the right security in place then all of this can be managed effectively.
